The 10th was a simple day that called for a simple dessert. The end of the tiny rains seemed to finally arrive, and I wanted to try something maybe a little hidden, a little tucked away. Enter the Schokokuss, or “chocolate kiss.” These little treats are simply dollops of sweetened egg-white foam dipped in chocolate. The flavor I chose was a nice little eggnog.
The first realization upon biting into this particular Schokokuss was that real alcohol was present in the eggnog flavor inside. These people truly do not mess around. After that, there was a slow melting of the egg-white-marshmallow combined with the sweet milk chocolate. Simple, elegant, not too flashy. Similar to Peeps, one could easily eat about 15 of these things, and being only .70 cents, it’s hard to think of a reason not to.
