Boosted! Finally got the third shot today. This is not any kind of statement other than a mere recounting of the material facts. So, it happened. Otherwise, the days are already melting into each other, which for January’s sake isn’t so bad as my first big boy payday approaches.
I watched that new Aaron Sorkin movie about Lucille Ball, then tried to rent J Edgar with Leo but after the rental went through, realized it was only offered in the German dubbed version. Which, if I’m going to stop this post in its tracks to complain about (I am), must be addressed as the lunacy that it is. Movies come with a set language pre-installed, with no requirement to alter, upgrade or replace. To only have the version with a foreign language dub, means that you went through the trouble of dubbing, which is proof that the original version exists and was used as reference for the dub, and then had two versions, one which you already own the rights to show (how could you own the rights to the dub and not the original?) and one which you translated, and then you looked at your internationally diverse population full of immigrants and expats and thought, “nahhh, throw the original out, no need to give them options.” What, not even an original version with subtitles printed over it? You NEED the German actors with handlebar mustaches gudeling and spudeling all over Leo Dicaprio’s normal voice? Can you tell I’ve done nothing today?
Anyway, it is my pleasure to share with you a portrait I took of my cactus. The less attention I give him, the more he thrives, which means I love him. Hope you had a relaxing Sunday, the day of rest.
See you tomorrow.
Nick
