And that is really it. That’s how it can usually go if you’re not a dick and they’re not completely burnt out (which ends up just being sad). Normal introduction, normal conversation, normal (or not, depending on what you want) sex. Yes, the whole thing was a service to me, and I paid for it. But with any human transaction, especially sex, it turns out, emphasizing the human a little more and the transaction a little less makes it feel more purposeful, more right with the heart. In the end, I was still a greasy dude who called a number, but I always tried to give each transaction’s maximum potential a fighting chance. To not be the guy who made them hate their job, but hopefully the guy who made them happy about what they were doing, if that was possible.

I like the idea of an old lady playing in the park with her grandkids, sitting down on a bench, and while remembering all the clients she had enjoyed or endured, she thinks of me. The perfect customer. Then she kisses her husband on the cheek, looks out to the grandkids and says ‘let’s round em up now, or we’ll be late for your osteoporosis appointment’. The husband grimaces, yet accepts that she is correct yet again.
