March 25, 2022 – Photoblog

Dudes, my productivity this week was not ok. Been super exhausted with visa stress, but even just doing this blog again, things are starting to reroute. Today I basically slinked out of the bed like a congealed puddle of human flesh and souped myself over to my computer chair and tried to work for 8 hours. You ever do that from home? Not even shower? Hardly even eat? Just sleep till the absolute last moment before skulking directly over to your dual-monitor setup, blasting your corneas with incinceratory uv protons from the jump of your day? Makes you wonder what a sad state of affairs the human race as cajoled for itself. I should be plowing some field at 5am, cold dew rising from boiling blades of wheat and grass, rising into the air as if in reverse, creating a natural mist that smells of rock and loam. Or I should be in the woods with a bow, overlooking a vast penumbra of woodland green as it is lit from 90 degrees by the burning sun, the shadow of each tree a pitch dark spike through the heart of endless lush. Quick! The snap of a twig, a babbling brook, the buck standing calmly, regal and assured. We don’t want to kill it, but we must, and it is the coward’s way to let someone else do the killing.

Anyway I sat in the chair for like 8 hours, irrevocably crunching my organs up, before signing off and heading into Old-City Mainz for a drink and some dinner with friends. For the first time ever, we have a collage of pictures! I couldn’t choose between them so just added them all. The city was alive but not busy, the air cooly-warm but not hot or cold, and a sense or normalcy pervaded. Hung out for a while, enjoyed the vibes of the tiny but classy Italian joint we went to, and passed out at home at a respectable 11:30pm. Yeah, I’m writing this in the morning after, sue me.

See you tomorrow,

Nick
