The year is flying, but also so much has happened. For these first three weeks of September, I finished that video you saw a couple posts ago where an entire company trusted my voice to ease their elderly colleagues into accepting the cloud as a place to save their files. I also attended a thing called Weinmarkt (wine market), which is a very famous festival in Mainz where they take over the wooded park at the edge of the city and turn it into a veritable playground of culinary and wine delights. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it blew those expectations out of the water.
This is a place I truly wish I captured more photos of. Sadly, I got some weird infection and my lymph node in my neck swelled up like a goddamn tennis ball and I was feeling a bit off. The whole thing almost sent me spiraling down a paranoiac health-anxiety panic attack but in the end, deep breaths and incredible Rosé put me right again. All of this to say that once I was feeling the vibe, I forgot to take more pictures. But there were sausages everywhere, roasted meats on the spit, live rock music and even a DJ set that went until 1 am. That last picture you see is from a bar/club we went to after the festival, and the utter confusion you see on my face speaks for itself.
After pushing those limits, though, I basically did nothing for the week after. Even as I write this my lymph node is still a tiny bit tender, although the difference is significant. I did watch Kurt again, though:
And this past week, I took my boy Aref to the club for his bday.

And that about brings us up to speed. For tomorrow’s entry, I’ll share a bit of the novel, it’s progress and my ambitions, and why I’m not mad I didn’t finish by my bday.
See you then,
Nick
P.S. In honor of summer closing, lets smoke one last cigarette together, just you and I:
